Just watched the start of the new series. If the end was a wee bit obvious, I liked that they didn't even try to explain where all those Daleks came from.

Oh and

Um, she is probably a very attractive and intelligent young lady but that picture makes her look like a red haired potato pre-mashing.

Still confused by the Dalek parliament and prime minister dalek

I thought it was an empire - Davros, emperor dalek, golden dalek, and at the launch of the new paradigm, the supreme dalek)

The last time I had the misfortune to watch Dr Who, it had that tosser Tennant in it - has it improved?

Oh, and still a munter ^^^^

Your standards regarding female beauty are so high, I'm astounded you can find a single living human being who measures up. 🙄

Can't see rd's pic, the girl in red is lovely, the ginger munter is still, well... a munter.

I doubt she would find me very attractive, but each to their own tastes. Just my onions.

Oh and al, no not just you pal.

You probably don't want to know what I hope it is, but I think it's an egg whisk.

Sounds more like Allo Allo than Doctor Who.

The girl in red is the new hanger-on, so you'll be seeing a lot more of her.

Despite getting dead in that episode, she'll be back.

Why, I ask, is the series only going to be 5 episodes?

It isn't.

Half a series, Christmas special, other half of series.

Didn't really like the first episode. Built tension, interesting twist then... a bit of a damp squib to finish

Exec producer and budget problems, supposedly.

Watched it last night. Quite enjoyed it.
The "asylum" was suitably dark and spooky with all the old daleks.

Liked the "eggs...eggs...eggss--ter-min-ate" gag.

Ending was a little odd though. How did we manage to reverse the damage cause by the nanobots and remove them from Amy and the Doctor's systems?

Presumably the teleport might be capable of removing them (ala Star Trek) but what about the damage caused?

Oswin?souffle Girl is in the words of Keith Lemon "Bang Tidy".

Gingerboobs distinctly average in comparison.

Funny how people find somewhat unflattering photos of Karen to support claims she's unattractive.
She looks perfectly fine to me:

It's threads like this that remind me why I like STW! 😛

FWIW I enjoyed that episode, not quite so much of a complicated back story going on, so you could concentrate on "being scared" of the daleks.

Although if souffle girl is going to be the new assistant then I'm sure things are going to start getting a bit weird, and attention will have to be paid to follow the story!

Knowing the way Moffat writes these story arcs, I have a feeling the very marked line to Amy at the start of the asylum episode "Make them remember you" will end up having some significance beyond the irony that the Daleks then forgot The Doctor later in the episode.

And yes, it IS all a bit 'kids TV', but then we're all just still kids aren't we?

slainte 😀 rob
