My last health check revealed that I am at risk for developing diabetes (HbA1c 43). That suggests that my usual ride diet of Mars bars and Haribo might not be optimum for my health. I wonder what folk who've been dealing with this for longer than me are eating on long rides? Thanks for your advice !!

Mars Bars and Haribo are exactly what I eat on a ride. 🤣 Porridge Oat bars are good as well. Type 1 diabetic for nearly 30 years.
As with everything it’s making sure you don’t over do it. Unless you are demolishing multi packs and share size Tangfastics every ride, I doubt it will make any difference to your overall diabetes risk.
