[Closed] Desire in the States?

Has anyone used their HTC Desire (or Legend) in North America, and if so, how have you found the data speed for things like surfing the interwebs, Google maps, emails etc?

be aware that roaming data rates are astro-freaking-nominal, esp. in the states. not sure about 3G coverage, last I heard it was pants in the US.

Oh wait - you are using your UK one in the USA? Forget fast data. UK networks don't have 3G roaming agreements with US providers I think. Well, Vodafone might, not sure.. but Orange certainly doesn't

Yeah, might just bite the bullet and get a Nexus One and sim over there, see if I can flog it on once I've finished with it.
