How can some people assemble the English language in a way that tugs at your heartstrings and leave you feeling like you've (however far removed you are) somehow shared their loss?

Saw this last night and just read it this morning, what a beautiful piece of writing.
I heard him tell the story too. His story telling is as good as his story writing.
If I remember correctly he sued the local council for not providing safe mini buses. The ones used were old and did not have seat belts. He won and bought new buses for the local schools and college with all of the compensation.
Nope not feeling that one bit, my heart of stone is obviously mutating to granite.
