Hi all,

Trying to do an oil/oil filter replace (got both) on my MX5, but don't have any axle stands or even bricks, so struggling to get under the car at a decent angle.

Does anyone around have some stands, a jack, and some space so that I can come round one evening and do the work, in return for some beers/£s?

Alternatively, does anyone know of a good but cheap garage who would be willing to do the work with my parts?

Thanks, Duane,

I picked up a jack + 2 axle stands (3 tonne limit each) + mechanics tray (on rollers!) kit from Halfrauds for about £40, several years ago.

Fingers crossed they might still do them.

Seriously recommended!

Failing that I'm in nottingham and have a (mostly) clear garage, a small trolley jack and a couple of axle stands.

please don't put the car on bricks and go under it, super dangerous. i got mine from the car boot sale, years ago. better still get some ramps, but shouldn't the car be level to change the oil?

Thanks all. I have the stuff back home in Wales hence not wanting to buy, we're on internships in Derby.

In that case you're welcome to use my garage.
