Going to be buying a laptop for my niece to use at high school, aged 14 and will hopefully last her 4 years through A levels. Wondering if any of the 3x levels of service are worth shelling out for?

Thanks.

will hopefully last her 4 years

Good look with that...In my experience laptops last about 2 yrs max these days.

Thats why they are so cheap - they are disposable items nowadays.

Batteries - 1 year, motherboards, power supplies, Hinges on lids.

I get calls from friends all the time about this as I "work in IT" normally along the lines of I want to get my kid a laptop etc etc but now I wont recommend any as they never last as long as the parents anticipate they will.

The odd one will yes if its been looked after etc but a 14yr old I cant see that.

Not saying they are good or anything just they hardly ever last more than 2 years - that includes dell, vaios, hp etc.
