If one side practiced with the underinflated balls then they would have an advantage
Each team use their own balls when they are on offense and they are allowed to 'doctor' them in certain ways but within a set of parameters such as roughing them up to assist with catching. Minimum inflation should be 12.5 psi and they are all checked before the game.
