Really? This is Blackpool after all!

We use Wetherspoons under the tower. No messing, kid friendly, cheap and you know that it will be OK.

Fish and chips from coral island (arcade near the tower) or pizza express, near the winter gardens
However the advice to get out as quickly as possible is good advice.

There are some good pubs in the villages around Blackpool. But ilI agree with the other replies, see the lights and get out of Blackpool asap.

If you're going tonight I think there is a fireworks display. Not sure what time.
