We will be in touch
Our ancient REDRING has given up the ghost. The other shower in the house is off our biomass boiler but we'd like to keep one electric one in case we ever have a problem with the biomass.
It won't get regular extensive use but it needs powerful enough to cleanse a dirty mountain biker. Preferably it would be british made or EU made. I would prefer it didn't have fancy functions, flashing lights, extensive chrome work etc - just simple and decent quality. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Rich
We have got a 10.5KW Triton that does the job pretty well.
I'd get the most powerful that your cables can take.
Dunno how much it was, as it was already in the house when we've moved in.
I have had to replace a solenoid & the heating element, but not sure if this is to be expected or not with this type of shower - so not sure how it compares to others in terms of reliability.
I have always heard that Mira showers are much better quality than Triton ones, but I've been pretty happy with our Triton one. The Mira ones always seem a stack more expensive.
ime anything around 10 kW is fine. We replaced a Triton with a Mira but how much difference is there going to be in an on/off button, a heat control and a 4-way adjustable shower head? Even when the weather's like it is now the heat control is only mid-way
You might want to consider one with a phased shut down if you're the sort of chancer who stands under the shower BEFORE turning it on
