Want to get myself a 10" Android tablet, and have about £100 burning a hole in my pocket. The usual - take on holidays, email in bed, that kind of thing.

Can I get anything decent for that price? Seen a few around that look alright, but would like to hear first hand experience.

Android 4, something with HDMI outputs, a couple of USB ports and a memory card expansion slot.

You could get a tablet with that spec for that sort of money in a pub that I know of.
Otherwise, would the moon on a stick work?
😉

My mate got one from china for about 100 quid or so. Cracker. See if I can find out the make. He had to reflash it mind to get it in English I think though.

Ask no questions 😉

There are some China specials for sale around that price, just wondered if anyone had experience of them or they were a false economy.

£100 is under budget for the specs you want, open your wallet a bit more and buy this. http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/ARCHOS_101_G9_CLASSIC_512_RAM_8GB_501870/version.asp

there is a 16gb around the web for like 15 quid more. I just got one of these and it's pretty good. The screens not as good as the ipad or nexus but the best for the money.

Nah, I don't expect it to be. More important is the practicality of it - what's the battery like on the Archos?

not bad, I've never had any problems but I've never run it down and just put it to charge every night so I can't really comment on running time. Dig around the web and I'm sure you could find some bench tests.

Decent 10" tablet for £100?

Pick any two of those requirements, I'd suggest.

if you do go for the archos Lee, make sure you get the G9 not the G8 as the G8 can't be upgraded to ICS. The upgrade will install once you boot it up and connect to wifi.

Onda Vi40 including delivery it was about £150.

That was the message I got back. So not under 100 obv. Very nice feel to it. But its only a couple of weeks old and I only tried it out for a wee bit. Worth investigating further though if you can stretch the budget.

Thanks Joe, Onda seem like the best of the bunch when it comes to cheap tabs.

Ok, not 'decent' - 'adequate' 🙄

Superpad 9 marginally over your budget, but there's a 7 and 8 still available.

Quite impressed with the 9 TBH.
