Morning all

I was going to take my son upto see the tower of London & then afterwards thought it would be nice to go for some sort of boat ride/tour. Can anyone recommend anything along these lines?

Also, as the paralympics start today would we be better off going either Thursday or Friday instead to avoid the opening ceremony rush?

Cheers all 🙂

Good shout, folks. From Tower, hop on a 15 bus (As long as it's a PROPER one! They run Routemasters from Tower towards Trafalgar Square.

Saunter across the river from there, meander along by the Eye (Well worth a trip if it's not too busy!) and head to a Duck tour from there.

CFH knows how to use a bus? 😯

or if the duck tour is too expensive, you can get a boat from Westminster to Greenwich return which is worth a trip.

Chauffeur needs a day off. Working time regs or something like that

I'd recommended visiting Greenwich, it's really rather lovely and the maritime museum is free. I am biased as I live near there 😉
You can get a riverboat from there to Embankment or vise versa. London looks great from the river.
Duck Tours 🙂

we went to natural history museum and looked at dinosaurs then to science museum next door
my 5 year old son loved both (especially science museum) and it was free admission

might be a good rainy day option

+1 for Greenwich a great place, the views from the top of the hill across to the city are fantastic. We did one of the CAMRA pub walks great fun. Staggering architecture.

Pub walk may not be good for your boy though 🙂

London rib experience is brilliant although perhaps a bit pricey. We got vouchers as a pressie and really enjoyed it. You probably have to book in advance....
