Hi

Need a travel bag for holidays etc. Thinking of the Dakine Split Roller Small (65). Anyone got one or similar - are they big enough for a week away? Dont want a massive bag considering baggae allowance on most airlines.

Already have a Dakine Boardbag and very happy with the quality of that.

Excellent quality bag, well made and pretty robust which does mean quite heavy. Way better than Samsonite it replaced

Do you have the small split roller? Do you think they are big enough for a weeks worth of clothes and a few bits and peices?

Wiggle to a DHB version of the split roller - my one weighs 3 kilos, so that may effect things, and it's 110L but it is bomb proof. It also only cost 40 quid, rather than the 100 for the dakine.

Prob sounds a bit odd, but I used one of these:

and a helipack for a 3 week diving trip to Malaysia / Thailand.... the vented waterproof lower part was just perfect for damp diving kit!

Edit: light as a feather when empty since there's no wheels/handle, and crammed full with either summer or winter kit weighs around the 12 - 13kg!

I have the 90l split - very good it is too - takes a months worth of kit easily including laptop and suit and entertainment. its become my take everywhere bag even though I have to check it in at airports.

I think a 65l would be more than enough for a weekend if you're not a tart
