Kids have potentially been messing with laptop today and it has developed an opaque square in the bottom left hand corner of the screen with a mouse pointer in the middle. When the computer is thinking it will have the hourglass symbol in it. It also shows up in the sign in screen and is present whichever account is logged into.
I can't figure out how to shift it and it's starting to become very annoying ! Can anyone help ??

Link isn't public.
I've not come across this, but it sounds like it might be something in accessibility options? Either that or something in the mouse driver / options maybe?
I'll have a play after tea and see if I can replicate it.
Tried turning it off and on again?
Sorry, link should be fixed now
My guess would also be some sort of accessibility option has been enabled, possibly buy some accidental key combo to activate it.
Without looking it up, I'd suggest finding the accessibility options in your settings and see if something is randomly switched on.
Failing that, Google accessibility hot keys windows 10, and that might well shed some light.
It looks like the Magnifier window, broken if it doesn't follow the mouse. Look in settings, ease of access.
Max setting is 1600%, options include start after sign in and pre-login for all users.... Wind up for colleagues's unattended PC? ๐
Sorted! Thanks for that, used Windows key and + / - to zoom in and out on magnifier, this crashed computer, restarted and box is gone. All makes no sense but seems all good !
