Walking distance from the Gatwick Holiday Inn would be good.

Jai Ho on the Balcombe road will take 40mins to walk- but is fab. Their Grand Thali is mar vel ous.
(Assume you are at the Povey Cross road variety of holiday inn)

Shimla at Apple Tree pub is good value
Zaris and Taj Mahal are better but pricier.

Indeed the Octopus has some very gorgeous patrons as a I recall from a few weeks back. They'll be off to JJ Whispers next....
