It's about time I sorted the "study". Like s lot of people, it's the smallest bedroom repurposed. It has an integral wardrobe/cupboard which will end up with shelves and filled with books, folders, box files etc with maybe a couple if plastic boxes at the bottom full of junk.
That cupboard is about the side of an airing cupboard. Slightly wider that the width of a standard door.
I'm wondering if it will need lighting in there and if so, what are the options? I could put a strip light or pendant in the ceiling easily enough but that's not really going to illuminate stuff down the bottom end. Perhaps an led batten vertically down one side of the door.
I'd briefly considered recessed led strips around the full door frame but that seems a bit extreme for a cupboard we maybe go into once a week at best.
So, what inspired ideas have you had in the past that I can poach?
Sounds like an LED strip would be the easiest, battery-powered might be worth looking at if you don't have wiring running into the cupboard already.
There's no wiring currently but that's an easy enough job and I'll have to refinish the walls in places anyway once the hanging rail comes out.
Motion sensitive isn't something I'd considered before but I do like that idea.
After putting up with crappy battery motion sensor lights for our under stairs cupboard, I bought one of these from IKEA. Designed for bookcases, but works well.

I had bought 2, but one on its own is enough for me. They do a 4 way one as well. I hadn't realised IKEA deliver now too.

I bought these for my van - set of 3 magnetic lights with motion sensors. They come with a self adhesive magnetic strip.
I'd imagine you'll spend less time in your cupboard than I do in the back of my van.
THe motion sensitivity is good - and they don't stay on too long once triggered. They're still on the first charge from when I bough them in September.
Having a few light sources in a small cluttered space means less of stuff that you're looking for is hiding in your own shadow
