I was riding my bike up on Culmstock Beacon and someone drove up in a landrover claiming to be the land owner stating he did not want us on his land with our bikes, When we informed him it was a bridleway and a public right of way he said he did not give a toss and he did not want to see us on his land again yep he was a bit of a knobber

Where do we stand the area is littered with bridalways so surely we have access rights??

Anyone else had any issues??

Don't know the area, but if you're on public rights of way, he has no control over your access. Tell him he's within his rights to call the police, but as you are riding legally, he can expect them to take no action.
As far as I'm aware of the legal standing, anyway.

On an OS map I can only see one bridleway which runs close to the trig point on the Beacon (from Woodgate running NE to the mast in the wooded area). Is that the one you were on ? If so then tell him to do one ๐Ÿ™‚
