It looks quite funny since the camera stays level relative to the floor.

I would have been absolutely bricking it if I was there, though. Hope no-one was badly hurt.

Can't be bothered to find it but there's footage of a forklift truck breaking loose below decks on the same boat. Funny as it all looks there were some pretty serious injuries. It's often mis-labelled as being the ferry to Shetland. Having slept under the tables on that boat I know all the furniture is secured by steel cables ๐Ÿ™‚

Perfect example of why you shouldn't have unsecured furniture etc. on a ship

This is the best version I've seen, perfect words in the song. And Yes, the woman in the background who headbutts the pillar ๐Ÿ˜ˆ "I am Flying", she certainly did.

Liner = designed to run a scheduled service, 'all weather' - furniture etc all provided with means to secure it.

Cruise ship = designed for limited weather, should have used the forecasts and found a safe harbour

Someone sent me this on FB. Think he said it was the Shetland Ferry. Not quite a cruise ship eh? But still.

Man the lifeboats.

Have a look at the video in the post above its a cruise ship not the Shetland ferry.

The Shetland ferry doesn't have a pool on it deck.

I would have thought head to wind and maintain some forward progress to reduce the rolling.

My old fella used to tell us stories of winter storms in the north Atlantic during WW2. He served in destroyer's on convoy duties 40-43. Many a time the crew thought the ship would broach when under orders to turnabout for stragglers. Found pic on net

My guess is the lateral stability system has failed. I was on a cruise ship outside ft lauderdale in the aftermath of hurricane andrew and there was nothing like that kind of motion going on. Nothing to be done about the pitching but that clp looks like yaw motion to me

Love that the ad You Tube chose to serve on top of the video from the helicopter is for a cruise in the Med.

Err, no thanks!

A friend of mine took the a trip on the Queen Mary2 last month. They sailed out of NYC early to beat the full force of Sandy along with some other cruise ships. The QM2 managed to sail straight through the edge of Sandy making 24-25 knots the whole time with remarkably little drama (according to friend who was texting me mid-Atlantic) whilst the other cruise ships were making 3-4knots headway. When asked about this the captain replied "this isn't a cruise ship. It's an ocean going liner" ๐Ÿ™‚

I think the picks definitely are cruise ship!

Oil rig supply ships in the north sea. These bad boys have seats on the bridge with 5 point harnesses.
