I have only had the car a couple of days and hadn't thought about this previously.

Previously on cars i have owned i would use the V5 to apply for a crit air, but i believe lease cars mean you don't have a V5. So is there any general process? Just contact the lease company and ask, alternative documentation?

Think they're being phased out but not sure when. So you might not need one.

I've just bought a new one as had to have the widscreen replaced but I'm not fitting it if I don't need to.

Edit: there was a vote to abolish LEZ's but it hasn't been passed yet.

I have just received a new one after my windscreen was replaced, but as above, the French government has voted to repeal the laws requiring them and remove most LEZs. Incroyable!

For completeness, I contacted the lease company, they sent me a pdf of the details on the V5, submitted that in the usual way and got an email confirmation from French Government today so should be sorted in plenty of time before my trip. Now I just need to amend the Tunnel booking for the new car.

If you're taking the car to France, you need the V5 anyway.

Apparently that's wrong, you need a VE103.

I sorted that in the same conversation with the lease company

By the look of it, it’s got to get through the French senate so may yet not happen anyway.

Yeah I’ve just been through this having never had a lease before. Asked the lease company nicely and they sent me a scan of the relevant v5 page. They’ll also sort me the ve103 for £14.

RAC will issue a ve103 for £8
