Well England are making an arse of this aren't they?
Broad goes full and straight and he's rewarded again with a wicket. Borren giving himself room but it wasn't short so his attempted flay never got near. Excellent cameo knock though from the captain. Hold on, what's going on here!? Borren has stopped going off and he's survived! England only had three inside the circle so it's a no ball! Dear oh dear, the wheels are off and England are a shambles.

"This is rubbish from Anderson. We talk him up when he is bowling well but this is absolute tripe. He's trying to bowl slower balls and off-cutters and it's not working. Just keep it simple, full and straight. His last ball was right in the slot - if you had one eye and a patch you couldn't miss that!"

Got to love Geoffry Boycott!

Though in truth its rather embarassing......

England fans look away now. Absolute shocker as Swann drops a sitter at third man. The World Cup is up and running and England are a mess again.

What commentary are you watching crispo? I am on Cricinfo

Just on the BBC website live feed. Its pretty good because you get the gems from test match special.

Lets hope the batting isnt quite so abismal.

Someone should explain to England that the idea is to make the leathery bally thing get to the ropey thing on the boundary.

And when you try a reverse sweep, the idea is to reverse sweep it, not have it bounce up and go in the other direction.

USELESS!

Ah, that's going to hurt!! Can Collingwood justify his 'man for a pressure situation' tag now?

I think they did that earlier with the ball. Still should get home, but way to close for comfort, net run rate ain't going to be in our favour!

When does Broad come in? Should they be falling on their swords and getting him in? We need someone who will swing at it.

Wonder if Strauss still thinks we can win after that. Lesson that needs to be learnt is on these tracks two spinners are a must. Yardy in for Jimmy?

Tight run thing, but easy enough in the end. Outrageous that Netherlands scored 292 though... or am I being to harsh there?

I have to agree - although you lot probably want to be thankful Holland aren't a test nation. 😛

On the basis of today's result in comparison with the last test series England played I suggest a five test series against the Netherlands. Perhaps we could call it the hashes? Obviously we'd need to bump Australia down to a 3 test series perhaps once a decade (to be reviewed once they've had a chance to improve)
