I'm DJing at a wedding in Portugal next week. 😀

As well as some not-too-cheesy wedding classics and soul/funk/Motown etc they have requested dance music and indicated that this might go on until pretty late.

I normally DJ breaks/dnb but I've been getting together stuff like Daft Punk/Chemical Brothers/Groove Armada. Any recommendations for accessible but not too cheesy dance music? I'm thinking vocal stuff/bootlegs/mashups will be good as people like stuff they've heard before in that scenario. They've mentioned liking Soulwax/2 Many DJs etc

Cheers!

Go for some cheese and bass.

It'll murder the dancefloor 😛

...or something a bit lower on the BPM scale:

High Contrast - Racing Green, cleared the dance floor of Jon Bon Jovi fans at our wedding and got everyone else on their feet including my 90year old grandma, was a bit surreal dancing to drum and bass with her but a great memory to remember her by.

Got to go old skool, get the pianos going, sweet harmony etc, wind up to some LFO and chuck in chime/halcyon at the end

it's what we did!

After everyone has had a few sherberts, don't forget to get some northern soul or ska on, that usually does the trick too

great minds think alike n all that. It's not a classic wedding song though. Definitely a big tune. Just stick it on repeat and then get some Freecell or Solitaire on the go, I think that's what he does. Everyone loves it though.

Don't listen to these fuddy duddys.

Nicky Minaj's Anaconda to open, then some Skrillex. When it all gets a bit too heavy, drop some 'big room EDM' from Martin Garrix.

Thing about weddings, doesn't matter how great or credible a dance track actually is, if they haven't heard it before they won't dance.
