As we're entering the season of gross over-eating, and most food being lovingly slaved over for hours, what's your rubbish antidote? You know what I mean. Those guilty trips to maccie D's? That quick pot noodle before you head to the pub...,.

For lunch we shall be dining in style on cheap crap hot dogs, on stodgy white rolls, with the obligatory cheese singles and smothered in tommy K. Get in!

What's your guilty food pleasure then? Let's 'ave 'em then! It must be crap! Anyone mentioning olives or freshly baked bread gets a kicking 😉

Does Subway count? I absolutely love a foot long steak and cheese with a bit of everything on it.

If not then cheese. I can eat blocks of it. Give me a chunk of cheese and a knife....

You'd never guess it from my slender physique binners but I'm partial to the odd chip barm.

With Mayo.

*waits for chippy to open.

You're still alive after mad Friday then Russ? I reckon you've earned the chip barn fella. There was a chippy in Broughton that used to hollow out a white loaf, then fill it with chips 🙂

And Subway definitely counts as crap food! Good effort for overcoming that horrible sickly sweet smell that always wafts out of them

*dry heaves*

Stumbled in at 4.40 am this morning and feeling a bit cabbaged tbh. Mad friday lived up to it's name. Still back in at 5 tonight for shite Saturday. Hopefully going to get away by midnight tonight so see you tomorrow.

Fingers crossed.

Oh and Armstrongs (home of the jumbo cod) in Prestwich ftw!

But binners and Bregante are from Manchester - so everything they eat is crap shite.

At least down here, we can call it "guilty pleasures" and be all post-modern and ironic about it. But for those guys, it's just a day to day thing. To be honest, I feel sorry for 'em. Sending you lots of love guys. 😐

😛

(think of me working in the cathedral of consumerism tonight from 2300 till 0700 🙁 )

I had 2, yes 2, McDonald's meals yesterday. That is 100% more McD meals than I've had in the last 15 years.

Takes our mind off the TB and lungs full of soot though dd. No wonder you look at least 5 years younger than binners, despite being a lot older than the lot of us northern monkeys.

And its christmas next week too so we're having some specially imported frozen broccoli, tinned peas AND turkey dinosaurs at ours.
Who says we don't appreciate fine dining?

Hot cross buns. At Christmas.

Er....I think you'll find hot cross buns dripping in butter are not crap food! No way!

My current fave crap food is 'nutty bars' from Asda. Basically, Asda's version of a Snickers.

Come from close to the home of that Scottish culinary delight - the deep fried (in batter) mars bar/confectionary snack of your choice. Yummm, yep I do very occasionally indulge.

Hungover household today, cupboards are bare. As neither of us can be faffed to go to the shop, I rustled us up some hash browns and fish fingers for lunch.

Snickers FlapJack. 1147 calories in a bar the size of half a mars bar. Not so much a sugar rush, more of a stampede. We used to call it the "Singlespeeders' Friend" as they would be broken out before the last couple of big hills. The trick was to survive long enough before the inevitable sugar crash and get to the pub where they sold salted peanuts. By the vat.

And white bread cheese sandwiches. I'm really hungry now!

Pork Pie. Preferably with salad cream.

Sausages. Not 'good' sausages but cheap sausages...none of that lumpy real meat but a smooth over-processed centre with a high rusk content 😀

Frey Bentos steak and kidney pudding, with a chip shop sized portion of oven chips is about as bad as it gets.

I mostly don't eat all the suet pastry though, I share it with the dogs.

I finished a packet of McVities chocolate caramel biscuits the other day, it doesn't sound too bad until I admit I opened them 30 minutes earlier.

A tin of corned beef (and I don't mean a poxy 200g tin, 340g here thank you!), with loads of Smash mashed potato, and peas... Nom nom nom gimme gimme gimme! :-p

Also love a chicken tikka footlong (though with lots of salad) from Subway, usually polished off by 3 choc chip cookies.

Malt loaf, whole ones, straight from the packet. 700 calories for 50p from Co-op, perfect mountain bikers snack food, what's not to like!

Jaffa cakes. Read above, though slightly better tasting...

Chicken Tikka kebab from my local once in a while. To be fair, they're a LOT better than most takeaways, meat is pretty decent quality and not totally swimming in grease, but agreed still not healthy.

Fish cake and chips

Birds eye fish fingers and chips

2 mince pies, in a bowl, heated up, covered in vanilla Carte Dor ice cream.

A big bar of Cadbury's Caramel

All you people with your "twiglets and humous", god how middle class are you! Go and be a student for a few years, you'll learn to enjoy the crap food as well as the good stuff... 😀

Battered haggis, chips, salt and sauce when I'm north of the border.

Naan filled with Lamb Tikka, Doner meat, salad, chillis and chilli sauce from our local kebab shop.

Mince pies.

slainte 😀 rob

not me but my dear mum is rather partial to a bit of Hong Kong-style french toast:

2 pieces of bread, with a heavy peanut butter filling, dipped in egg+milk, deep fried to perfection and topped off with condensed milk and a big serving of butter.
