51 - had Oxford AZ jab friday lunch time - went for a 20 mile road ride after wards
Saturday I felt achy all over - like when you have bad flu - no exercise but was working all day long till midnight running a full disaster recovery test for our IT systems at work remotely
Sunday aches that had cleared up went for a 44 mile road ride
Monday - 21 MTB ride - slighly sore arm where injection was but otherwise back to normal
My advice to anyone is to predose normal run of the mill paracetamol the first night after your jab and keep taking them 2 every 4 hours up to 4 times a day for a day or two and you’ll be reet.
Just want to mention rather vaguely that I specifically saw an article from a respected course ( I remember thinking so at the time.Lol) saying NOT to pre-dose paracetamol before the jab. I'm damned if I can find the info now but the advice was quite emphatic.
Update on my mums friend I mentioned a page back, she got released from hospital Saturday morning and got bloods taken on Sunday, back up to hospital this morning for 2 IV platelets and 2 IV cryoprecipitates to aid in clotting, she’ll need bloods taken regularly and will continue with this treatment for a while yet, her platelet count is slowly rising but still very low and any exertion, even walking from her bedroom to bathroom knocks her for six - still very weak and breathless along with muscle and joint pain like nothing she’s ever experienced (her words) but she’s now on 15ml Oramorph (oral morphine solution) every 4 hours and it seems to be helping.
The consultant was joking with her tday, said she’s his “unicorn find” as after discounting every other medical possibility, that it was an extreme/unfortunate rare immune response to the vaccine, bit of a catch apparently and lots of interest in her case with her bloods being sent to various labs around the country. Her reply was “I’d rather be a ****ing donkey and not been through any of this”.
Retained her sense of humour at least and hopefully when this is all over there is no lasting damage or long term issues as my mum & her plan to do the WHW over 7 days when it’s safe to do so.

Free MemberNot particularly looking forward to the next one in 12 weeks.
I sort of perversely am, there was something just really satisfying and entertaining about having basically Insane Turbocharged Flu. All of the extremity of experience, without the dragging on. I'm basically turning into the viral masochists from the GCU Arbitrary
Had my Oxford jab at the Louisa Jordan on weds March 3rd.
12 hours of grace (so glad I took the bins out), and then chills, multiplying.
By the morning of the 7th, I was wearing long-johns under my pj bottoms, and four layers on my upper body (including a hooded and a fleecy top!)
By Tuesday, I had changed the bedding and dived into the shower.
Mentally, it was a bit draining.
As well as taking aspirin, I had by accident partially frozen a bottle of fresh orange. My goodness!
I just feel super lucky to have dodged the COVID bullet. If that’s the anti-virus, I’d hate to have bumped into the real thing.
Will pop into town later to lick some door handles, put this thing through its paces.
🤣

Ha ha, I know what you mean. I went to sleep a little earlier than usual for me last night, woke a little later and slept for 9.5 hours which is unknown for me. Apart from waking once for a pee and being mildly feverish at the I'm 100% today.
Even with a mild cold it's irritating to be still a bit 'off' 3 days later, this is almost like a switch being thrown.
Nothing more than a slightly sore arm - jabbed Friday afternoon - no further side effects.
Had mine yesterday. Felt fine for 12 hours then started feeling knackered. Went to bed very cold and with headache, got up this morning and couldn't walk without holding onto something for the first 5 minutes. Now just feel a bit fatigued with a headache, mild flu feeling.
Mrs Routes had her second Pfizer yesterday and has gone down with the same symptoms as first time around - shivering, sore skin, headache, sore eyes, aches, nausea etc. Hoping it's just another day and a half like last time.
36 (no underlying health issues so no idea how I have managed to get mine so soon) - got the AZ vaccine on Sunday afternoon. Fine until I woke up Monday morning feeling like I was recovering from a wild night out. Paracetamol in the morning, lunchtime and evening sorted out the headache. A bit tired during the day but nothing worse. Back to normal this morning (Tuesday).
Got mine at 3.20pm today - just seen this thread for the first time so really looking forward to it 🙁
Will report back later tomorrow.
Will report back later tomorrow
Hopefully!
I had the Oxford-AZ yesterday at 11ish. Didn't feel a thing. Wonderful staff and volunteers at the local vaccine surgery in Elland 👍👍
Slightly sore arm and more tired than usual last night and this morning. Arm still feels a little tired today.
49.5 yrs old, male, beardy & grumpy for the stats guys
PS I really wasn't expecting to be called up for weeks but got a txt at 8 yesterday saying book it. I guess I'm one of the oldest in my cohort
So, just in case any long haulers are interested, it seems anecdotally that we react quite vigorously to the first shot of the vaccine. In my case I was jabbed with AZ on a Sunday morning, had typical flu-like immediate reaction on Monday through to Tuesday then felt pretty good on Wednesday only to then cop a week of what felt very like a greatest hits rendition of a bunch of long haul symptoms I thought I'd seen the back of.
Those have gradually eased off - started last Thursday and today, the Wednesday after I actually feel relatively settled again and my RHR and HRV are both headed in the right direction. There are anecdotal accounts of the vaccine helping to improve the symptoms of long covid markedly, either by wiping out persistent live virus which may be hiding out in the dark, dusty, inaccessible corners of your system - you know, under the sofa and wedged behind the bookshelf. Or it may potentially re-set the immune system and damp down an abnormally activated response. I'd settle for either of those or a bit of both.
This is quite a good explanation of what might be happening. If you do have long haul and get the vaccine, don't be surprised if you get the full tumble drier effect, though bear in mind that some long haulers have had minimal reaction too:

56 AZ - last Thursday 2pm
Nothing that day, woke up the next morning with a very very slight headache (which I never get) - took one paracetamol as a precaution, I had a few meetings during the day - very slight ache where the injection was, next day same slight headache 1 more tablet and fine since then
Had the AZ at 3.20pm yesterday, woke up this morning at usual time with a mild headache and that's about it, so far!
No aching arm or temperature fluctuations, been around greno woods this morning- life's good 🙈
Age 61 BTW
final update from mine from sunday evening...
yesterday was pretty much a write off. very tired, hot and cold, spaced out kinda feeling. eased off a bit mid afternoon and by 8pm when I took the dog out for a walk i felt superhuman. i mean I felt better than pre jab. energised, my sinuses had cleared more than they have for weeks!
Maybe it was the enforced rest that put me right, but today i still feel pretty good even having had a normally average nights sleep.
had the AZ yesterday afternoon 15:00hrs. Woke up @03:00 this morning feeling a bit ropey. Felt hot and had a headache, so got up and guzzled a load of water which helped but still had trouble getting back to sleep. Felt pretty tired getting up for work @07:00 and still a bit ropey, but okay now. Headache has gone just feel a bit tired.
52yrs old.
Had mine yesterday lunchtime, felt fine until 7pm as I was about to get on Zwift for the STW race series...then all hell broke loose. Started with what can be described as explosive diarrhoea, an hour later the shivers kicked in and I was in bed by 8:30pm. Very restless with uncontrollable shaking, at midnight this changed to sweats and no sleep from 3am.
24 hours later and I'm still feeling weak as anything although the flu and diarrhoea seem to have calmed down.
Just feel completely out of it with a sore head. Hoping after a good sleep I should be ok.
Just been invited for mine. Clicked the link and they're basically only offering one day which I can't make. (Work on critical infrastructure) Do more dates open up, or is that one shot all you get? Also, does it make any difference to the symptoms if you've already actually had covid? Most important of all, will I get my sense of smell back?
@onzadog you may be able to log on to the national booking site for alternative dates and centres I think:
If you've had covid, you're more likely to get a vigorous reaction. And it is apparently helping some long haulers with symptoms, so it may possible help with any leftovers you have, but right now evidence is anecdotal.
Update on mine
Sunday 4:30pm. AZ
Was very fatigued on Monday. Arm sore.
Tuesday felt better - probably back to 95%. Thought all sorted by evening --- so had a few drinks with dinner
Woke at 0100 after a couple hours sleep, feeling really hot in my body (no fever as such)
Slept on and off.
Today feeling peaky - arm still sore, body temp has been variable. Some slight tingling in my left little finger. Feel 'off'
Hoping to rest tonight
Got mine yesterday morning, 10am. Started to feel a bit of aching around the groin, lower back at 4pm. Mild joint pain right knee & arm 8pm. Started to feel light headed around 9pm, then chill at 10pm. Light nausea.
Went to bed at 11pm, shivering. Up a couple of times for a pee then woke at 7am with a really sore head. Paracetamol & ibuprofen at 8am. Felt muggy all morning but aches were mostly gone by midday and feel fine now.
Overall, worth it
Edit: AZ also
Had mine at 4pm yesterday. Went to bed at 11, awake shivering and aching at 12.30. I took a paracetamol and put a hoodie on and slept until 2, when I woke up too hot.
Was in and out of sleep after that but don’t feel too bad today.
Positive side is that at least I know my body has reacted to the vaccine. 👍
Had my first jab (Pfizer) on Tuesday. Woke up Wednesday with a slightly sore left arm (where they jabbed me) and no other side effects. Left arm aches a little when I move it now, but that's about it. A bit disappointed I stocked up on Paracetamol now, but the other half has her jab tomorrow (likely to be AZ) so it might get used if she's unfortunate.
Anybody experience any rebound/return?
Note that BadlyWiredDog did.
Had mine Sunday. Monday not good, felt better Tues. Weds not great. Thurs felt better. Today woke with a dull headache. OK this morning; but now lunchtime feel decidedly off.
Gonna take myself off to bed
Had the AZ jag on Wednesday morning. Felt fine for first seven or eight hours, then on Wednesday evening it felt like someone had driven a steamroller over me. Shivering, aching and generally feeling very sorry for myself.
A couple of days on and feeling a bit better, but not much. Might try a very gentle spin on the bike tomorrow.
I had the AZ yesterday at 4.00pm. I am feeling rough today, but have just managed a couple of hours walking the dog. I'm ready for a sit down now though.
Anybody experience any rebound/return?
Strangely, yes.
AZ Sat AM.
Headache & nausea Sun PM till Mon PM.
Felt fine Tue - Thurs PM.
Headache & nausea back now..
AZ yesterday 10 am
Fuzzy head in the evening, slept well, slight hangover this morning.
Just done a 5K offroad walk, felt ok,some soreness in the knees.
No tablets so far other than my daily 2000 iu and multi vits.
Looking to do an Mtb ride on Sunday.
Update,
Had mine 3.20pm Tuesday been waking up with mild headaches each day since, now feel quite ill and very tired. Arm now hurts where jab went in.
Resting watching the snooker🤭
Mrs Masterdabber and I had our second AZ vaccinations yesterday. Neither of us had reactions or discomfort after the first ones. After the second one I've been lucky enough not to have any reaction at all. Mrs MD had a headache in the early hours of this morning but that seems to have worn off. Both of us have taken it easy today just to play safe.
Anybody experience any rebound/return?
Note that BadlyWiredDog did.
Yep, still a bit rough 12 days later, but bear in mind that I'm a long hauler and it seems fairly common for us to have a prolonged reaction. Mostly feeling tired and lethargic now, which is oddly unusual for me atm. I'm hoping it's a sign that my immune system is working hard doing something useful for once 🙂
After having it on Monday the feeling of being absolutely knackered finally wore off by Thursday pm.
AZ on Sunday.
Monday - felt brain dead, headache and lifeless - like flu with out the illness?
Tuesday - felt OK
Wednesday - legs were sore went out did very gentle 1 hour ride and that was enough.
Thursday - slept badly, more sore muscles back stiff
Friday - feel fine today
All rather odd, flu jab gives me no effects so I really wasn't expecting anything
Just got an armful of Astrazeneca, 2 hours ago. Bit of a headache and a little nauseous. Might give the ride a miss this afternoon.
My wife bollocked me. A trip to the big city for the jab meant an opportunity to buy super market doughnuts. Managed to get 4 into me sitting in the car waiting for my appointment. A tiny, I repeat tiny, bit of custard from the 5th got onto the seat. Well, the fuss.......
Other than that nowt. Didn't even know I had been done. Asked the nurse if my shirt was rolled up high enough and she said "done".
Had the AZ jab Wednesday morning. All fine until 9hrs later when I got a bad headache, hour after that began to ache and shiver like a nudist arctic explorer. Went to bed only to be woken twice in the night by my Garmin watch freaking out as my heart rate was over 120bpm whilst asleep! Thursday morning heart rate back to normal, but still muscle aches, headache & fatigue. Today headache gone, but still pretty tired. That all said I'd happily go through it all again - just hoping the second dose will be easier!
The long term wart on my arm near the jab site has shrunk massively ie by about 75%*. Other than than that, nothing to note.
* This may or may not be connected
Had the AZ vaccine thurs 0850. Felt fine for 4 hrs or so, then starterd to get abit squiffy.
Like when ypu have had a single g&t, or tramodol, or pre op drugs or mild recreational drugs.
Then got a lhs headache from around 5pm with a slight pain in the injection site.
Took paracetamol and ibuprofen alternatively every other hour and lots of fluids.
Woke up with stiffness in the old injury areas and kidneys, but tea and breakfast seemed to restore normality.
Hung wallpaper for a good few hours, and apart from the fact i can't hang wallpaper was ok till tea time.
Got cold and shivery so back on the paracetamol ancd hot choc
Apart from 2 rolls of wallpaper being a different tint and ruining the effect i was after, not a bad day, would recommend.
More evidence here that nearly everyone gets unpleasant side effects, which certainly doesn’t tally with the official line. Nor is it something you see with normal vaccines that haven't been rushed out.
Tempting to draw conclusions about how far you can trust the government and big pharma.
After a 10am jab Thursday mrs k had a slight headache yesterday, but by far the worst issue is sleeping on her right side and snoring in my face at night because her arm is sore.

No real side affects for me yet other than becoming a 5G pylon.

Chrispo, I have defended people's right to a different opinion, and to have it debated calmly and rationally. And for those people to also listen and assimilate the other side to their argument. I try to be even handed.
but that's either bollocks or trolling.
1/ In a thread asking people what were their side effects, of course you get more people telling of their side effects. The fact that the majority of people posting here have reported a mild effect is not evidence of a government cover up. If I start a thread entitled 'Who had no side effects from the vaccine' and get a majority of responses saying 'Me' then i assume that will resolve your conspiracy theory shite?
2/ Virtually no-one has reported anything other than a mild immune response to an infection stimulus. I got exactly the same sort of thing last time I had a cold, or the flu vaccine. It's perfectly ****ing normal.
3/ What's the 'official line'? Define 'unpleasant'? Compared to being hospitalized, or dying, I mean? The leaflet in front of me described my symptoms and said they were very common. It's incompetence beyond the level of even of this government if they've blown their cover-up by printing the likely (no, very likely) side effects in a leaflet they gave you with the vaccine.
It's a free country - make your own choice, what you want to do with the vaccine. But stop with the conspiracy shit, it's boring now.
