We will be in touch
Ok, so it's not going to be like Footflaps mansion/shed thread, but I'm knocking up a craft box for OH, using 2 sheets of 4mm ply stuck together.
Bought some 1" foam, thinking I'd pad it and cover in fabric, but changed mind now so am just going to affix straight to ply and put a padded top on (not hinged). Any suggestions to the below question may mean that foam is back in the game.
I've average woodcraft skills, but I've never actually covered anything in fabric before. I've only assembled the outer 4 sides so far and 2 things are troubling me:
1) How to I get a seamless (to the eye) continuation of fabric (covering in & out) - I have 2m by 2m of 100% cotton fabric, so I'm not limited there and..
2) What adhesive should I be using? I'm going to place a divider down the middle using dowel (I did say average ability!), so I want a glue that will set reasonably quickly to allow me to shape around the various 90 degree angles, but without seeping through fabric.
Any suggestions to either predicament?
Thanks, Rich
What is a 'craft box'?
What are you trying to achieve?
SB
It's a box, for her to stick her bits of ribbon & glue in.
So basically, it's a box with non-hinged lid that needs covering in fabric.....
I can make the box (halfway there), I want to achieve the fabric finish looking tidy with no visible edges and the fabric affixed neatly - which I have no experience of.
Not really STW territory really!
