I know, better to give up entirely but I'm being pragmatic.

Needs to be reasonable cost.

Reliable.

New "top up things" easily available, preferably on the high street too.

Thanks for any help and advice guys.

It's got to be said that since vaping, it has been a good substitute for smoking and just vape, although only on low nicotine to none.

I have been running an ELEAF ISTICK POWER ''mod'' with an ASPIRE CLEITO ''tank'' as ASPIRE are the benchmark at reasonable cost.

I believe it was a £70 for that setup then coils which are £10.99 for 5 posted off ebay etc or £4 odd each in vape shops.

Juice wise, V-Juice are a reputable brand and give good flavours (blue raspberry being my fav and deep freeze which is a strong mint freeze type). FIZZY the brand does a red bull flavour which is my favourite too. I don't do donut and the like flavours as they are too sickly.

But it has been an absolute joy over smoking any day.

I would say vape vandal the website is good for ordering juice once he gets into it as it's cheap and host a whole range of decent juices.

I use a 70VG:30PG mix juice or an 80VG-20PG mix juice but can't remember if that is for flavour or not but believe so as it's less watery if that makes sense, more thick juices do wear the coils out quicker.

One thing to remember is to replace a coil every week or so of heavy vaping or risk a burning taste which I doubt causes any reason for concern just that the cotton is clogged up not allowing the fresh topped up juice to soak through and be vaped smoothly.

Hope this info helps as there's nothing worse than smoking and chest infections during winter that comes with it.

any questions? fire away! 🙂

Oh juice for 55ml bottles is now priced for circa £15 or so and that avoid petrol station juices at all cost as they are cheap, nasty and generally high in nicotine content which tastes horrid.

From watching my OH go down this road, the only advice I have is that "buy cheap, buy twice" seems to apply here.

Fairly sure she ended up with that Aspire tank thing tdog mentioned, after going through several others.

The Aspire thing is good. Generally avoid anything sold in supermarkets and high street vape shops are daylight robbery - though they do allow you to try different things.

I use a Cool Fire IV Plus (Cool name bro!) with whatever tank came with the kit (available on Amazon). Spare coils (I get way more than a week out of line) are cheap for a pack of five, also on Amazon. I buy bulk liquid and flavours - also from Amazon. It might be best for your lad to try different liquids from a shop, and when he finds one he wants, learn how to make it. There are loads of sites that sell all the kit you need to make your own and will send out a pack with bulk liquids, flavours, syringes etc. All you need is a little drug-dealers’ digital scale, also available from amazon for a few quid. High initial cost but negligible thereafter.

Its basically a smoke machine from a nightclub and everyone thinks you are a ****er.  The long term health issues have not arisen yet.    Probably an even more malingering death.

😀

I’m disappointed that it took this many posts for someone talking out of his hole to turn up.

TBH guys,I would like him to give up full stop. Vaping is far from what I class as "safe" BUT it has to be better than choking down all that tar and carbon monoxide. Just had to be.

Ultimately I will help get him off smoking entirely but this is a good first step....

Think you’re good to with that lot. The only thing he has to get used to is with the sub-Ohm things, you inhale directly - rather than taking a drag, then inhaling like you do with a cig or some of the cheaper, smaller vape devices. It takes a bit of getting used to, not much though. Also, the sub-Ohm devices get through a lot of liquid - hence the aim of making your own eventually.

^^ Thanks buddy.

I know he has tried mates' ones a little so I'm sue surewill get used to it.

Just told him the cost.... The implication being he WILL use it. Lol

He's a good lad to be honest, he'll give it a good go.

Huge thanks guys, no idea on this type of tech! Lol 😆

By the way, 6mg with a sub ohm device is pretty strong.

I make my own at about 2mg or slightly less and that’s pretty spot on (for me)

Generally 3mg seems to be the norm at 0.5 ohm or less.
