I'm selling something on a classifieds listing (not this one). A chap agreed to pay the full asking price and offered £20 for registered post. He proposed PayPal. Any way this could go wrong if i receive the payment before sending registered post? I might be paranoid but something about the email smells a bit fishy...

Generally that's the way it's done.

He may be keen to buy it because he's thinking of swapping it with the broken one of the same thing that he's already got, and then claiming through paypal that it's faulty......

Or maybe he'll claim that he received a box full of rubbish instead? Would paypal side with you or him in that case?

😀

How many other offers have you had? What is it you're selling? How many posts on the forum (assuming it is) does the buyer have?

Whenever a post starts 'is this a scam?' My inner monologue says yes before I have read it.
Go with your gut, pull out.
