I need to copy a DVD (its legal I work for a University and have copyright permission) I generally use DVD43 to get around copy protection found on movie DVDs but it's not working can anyone recommend something else?

You might get away with DVDShrink. It that doesnt work try DVD Decrypter.

I got a set of free tools for "RipIt4Me". It includes DVD Decrypter, DVD Shrink and a few other bits which has a wizard mode that does what it needs with occasional prompting.

As above:
DVD shrink for creating compressed ISO files
DVD decrypter if DVD shrink doesn't work (and you can then use dvd shrink to ISO the results).
These two work 99% of the time.
