Help please - I have downloaded some music files from a friend in France (The Kid Pharoan - great music which seems to be unobtainable), but the problem is the format of the songs is .mpc which I've not come across before. Can these be converted to mp3 & if so, what's the best free prog for this? Thank you clever people.

The list shows Buzz Player, Pure Player and MoliPlayer on iOS will play those files natively. Otherwise you might have to use your Google-fu to hunt around for a player or converter for pre-Snow Leopard. There might be something archived somewhere.

Get foobar. It'll run pretty much every file, granted it's not the most pretty of media players but it works damn well! Not sure if you can get it for mac (you could always run it through boot camp though)

Couldn't find anything that worked on the mac. Foobar works on the windows laptop, so ultimately a result. Thanks chaps.
