Contacts on new phone always using WhatsApp 😠

Got a new pixel 6a and i can't stop it from using WhatsApp when phoning from contacts, any clues how to stop it?

Settings- apps- defaults- phone app.

Maybe.

Edit: or turn off/remove permission for phone in WhatsApp settings? (Long press WhatsApp- info- permissions).

This is all assuming android.

Edit: edit: pixel 6a so yes android. Learn to read marky!

No idea how this has come about but try going into setting>apps...
Find WhatsApp, then permissions and see if "phone" is allowed or not. In my Pixel4a it's set to not allowed.

Ta, looks like that may have solved it and saved me from ever increasing exasperation 🙄
