In regards to some possible fale boots I have just received and also an inflated rrp.

So how do I believe they are fakes, simples really, same model as a purchased in shop in real life.
Look roughly the same apart from poor quality on Amazon versions and different info on labels on inner tongue.
Even the country of production are different.
Rrp is £20 more than UK brand states and I will be contacting UK brand of boots to find out if they are indeed fakes and also now if my shop purchased ones are too, just to double check.

I won’t give away all the nitty gritty but it certainly appears they are fake. Even in a different box to my shop purchased ones.

I would simply like a phone number for Amazon as last time I phoned for a revund was 2009 iirc as never use Amazon for reasons above but felt compelled to buy another set due to having spare pair in future and the real shop only having one last pair.

Tia

You'll honestly be better off going through their online returns process. Go to your order history on the site and click 'Return or Replace Items'.

Depending on the item and if it was a 3rd party seller it may not let you do an automatic return, in which case it gives you a 'Contact Us' link so you can phone them.

Use the on-line returns - it works fine -

If you really insist on a phone call, log into your account go through the contact us bit and book a callback. It takes 10-20 minutes and is much better than sitting in queue in blackfriday->cybermonday horridness.

Thanks guys, spoke to my neoghbour who suggested what xora mentions bout the call back.

Will try Monday after speaking to UK brand of shoe to determine wtf is what before I get mugged off by Amazon.

Thanks again for info as it was not clear on their site even once logged in.

I'd use the chat if available, as I sometimes cannot understand a word they say.

They customer service is fantastic they rang me to solve a refund as they were having issues, I never asked them too either just they said it would be easier than messages back and forward. When ever I’ve spoken to them they appear to be Californian never had an issue understanding them.

Well that went well, NOT!

What part of your rrp Amazon is £20 more than UK distributor don’t you understand, plus the fact that I will now be going to trading standards.

🙄

Just because they sell fakes direct from Amazon and don’t want to know this now means I’ve got to waste time dealing with it.

They don't give two shits. They'll refund you with no quibbles but thats not really 'customer service' its just sloping shoulders - they'll take no further action about the fakes goods or fraudulent sellers or take any steps to prevent other customers being ripped off in future.

They seem ripe for a class action

You think Amazon will care in the slightest?

No jonnyboi, they weren’t actually that good a deal if you re read my op.
They inflated the rrp by £20 than the UK Distrubutor sets the price at.
So it turns out that extra £14 saving for a fake set over finding another set in real shop that are actually real is utter shite situation.

Irony is I purchased them NEW via their own direct Amazon option. No third parties involved apart from the sweat shop they were made.

I will be notifying the UK distrubutor and also trading standards once I’ve had it confirmed they are indeed fakes.

The first time I’ve ordered a set of shoes bitd nigh on 9 yrs ago, that were advertised as new direct from Amazon, they were actually sloppy seconds and had a partial refund of £15.

They have clearly not learnt from other failings and mistakes therefore it’s a -10 on goods and -10 on CS but a 6 on speediness of delivery.

I won’t be ordering from them ever from now on and will recommend others I know to not bother either.

I’m guessing that’s the sodding dooda that owns Amazon.

If so, I will be sending back for refund anyway so yeah thanks Dirtyrider 🙂

This all seems very stressful.

For future reference, don’t pay over the RRP and if returning just use the online process selected ‘product was defective’ from the options and put shoes were fake as the reason.

Going all chuck Norris will just tire yourself out. Amazon don’t care. Also, don’t discount someone buying legit boots and sending fakes back. The poor sods at Amazon have not got time to check the authentication when processing returns. So that could be how they got in the supply chain.

I guess the inflated RRP you are referring to is actually the price you paid...by complaining about this you are just confusing matters. Its recommended for a reason...they can charge more or less (unless you have suspect marketing practises like Specialized, where they maintain a high price by punishing bike shops that sell discount their prices too much)

Keep it simple, there is one complaint...You think they are fake.

I actually believed I was buying via a more reputable source having paid for new ones direct from Amazon so I was miffed very much so to find they look like fakes.

Plus the £20 rrp increase on their site as opposed to what it’s set at on the UK distys site had me annoyed a little further more so.

But yeah I’m frankly disgusted how this can still be a problem these days with online retailers such as Amazon etc.

Maybe it’s my fault for taking a chance of a new spare set 🙄 or I’m niave in thinkng that there’s dodgy sellers on their site but that Amazon themselves are somehow legit.

How very wrong I was to believe this.

If the price annoyed you, why did you buy the product?

But what if there is more than one distributor? There are at least 3 for Campagnolo in the UK for example and all 3 of them have different rrps for various components 🙂
