When have you been similarly devastated?
That time when Tunnocks replaced the Scottish lion with a British flag.
'Mon the Scottish Resistance!
Tesco changed the yellow bellies in the pick & mix to an inferior substitute a few months ago and now they've stopped stocking the jelly teeth.
I've pretty much stopped eating sweets due to this idiocy.
Creme Eggs since about 2014... FFS Kraft, why does everything have to be a race to bottom? If you're so greedy just make them cost more, they can cost twice as much, they're not a rational buy, no one would care.
Bottom line chasing American arseholes ****ing with stuff for the sake of making a penny here or there.
Sainsbury's stopped selling chocolate and raisin bars, now they only do chocolate with raisin and nuts. They're nut allergy racists. 😡
Green and Black's chocolate ever since Cadbury's/Kraft got their mitts on it
</thread>
Clearly not 🙂 To be frank I think the missing triangle in tolberlone bars is an improvement - they just need to dump the other 50% to make them perfect 🙂
I have no idea why you would deviate from the standard caramel wafer. What were you thinking?
The Inuit have 79 words for snow, you know, but only one for snowball...
Tunuks
There's no such thing as unnecessary coconut where snowballs are concerned.
Any teacake that has no dod of jam in it.

All coconut is uneccessary
Oh rusty spanner 8O... You had to do it didnt you?
"Puts shoes on"
Terry's Chocolate [s] Tangerine [/s] Orange.
Not only are they half the size they should be, one side of each segment is now concave to hide the fact that there's even less chocolate than you thought.
Another abomination. The biscuit base has gone and some unnecessary coconut has appeared.
Are you confusing them with Chocolate Teacakes?
The WRVS at work has Vimto bon bons, so they appear on the nursing station regularly
They're not that good.
No confusion Cougar. All the Tunnocks abominations are variations of the Tea Cake and Caramel Wafer. Just with bits added or taken away.
On the plus side, m&s vegetarian sweets are actually really nice.

Colin Caterpillars FTW
Have they stopped doing the marshmallow Colins?

Wash your mouth out now 😯
I'm dribbling at looking at that picture, easily polish off 3 bags without thinking. Record is 5 😈
Rich tea biscuits, anything that has wafer in it.
Dictionary definition of bland.
Rocky road works much better with rich teas than with digestives though.
Since the demise of Callard & Bowser Dessert Nougat and Texan bars - life hardly seems worth living 😉
Twinkies - The devils work!! 😯
+1 (-1?) the (formerly) Terry's (formerly) Chocolate (formerly) Orange.
Now became a Satsuma-looking lightweight gacky mess of overly-sweet fudgy FA encased in an acre of plastic. A million miles from the rock-hard, silky-smooth snapping, cricket-ball-hefty, core-splintering perfection of the actual (former) Terry's Chocolate Orange.
RIP.

The promise of extra chocolatey-ness, that clearly didn't deliver..
Salted liquorice from Holland. Sounds like it might be nice. Is actually a sticky shit-tasting mess...
All this way and no one has mentioned Wagon Wheels, more like roller skate wheels now.

It's since they started making them using castor sugar...

Nice.
I really like cheap chocolate. As in the slightly gritty stuff. And I really really like it.
My absolute favourite (after chocolate footballs) is jazzies. You know, the cheap CHEAP chocolate buttons with multi coloured sprinkles on top. If I died from a jazzie overdose, I'd die happy.
Anyway, the seemingly last bastion of my favourite sweeties was Wilkos pick'n'mix. Sure there's a few trendy sweet shops that sell then at inflated prices but Wilkos was a sure fire bet at a good price.
UNTIL THEY STOPPED DOING THEM!!!!!
A little bit of me died that day.
Maynards have changed the formula for Sports Mixture. They taste funky and have a slightly weird foam texture now.
They were my go-to fuel for long times, will have to explore other options now. 🙁
What is it with big companies and the need to for stuff that isn't broken?
I'm with Peter Poddy on jazzies!
I really don't like Hershey's chocolate though. Horrible flavour.
UNTIL THEY STOPPED DOING THEM!!!!!
Our still has them and we I have a non trendy shop at the bottom of the street that does pix n mix as well as jars for quarters.
my current confectionary disappointment is that the kid's sweet drawer contains one Snickers, and if I eat it then it'll be obvious.
When it's full (halloween, easter, christmas being the obvious examples) I can sneak stuff out and no-one knows.
Cadbury's. I haven't had a Double Decker or a Twirl with a cuppa since the ****ing septics took over. **** Kraft and **** their penny-pinching race to the bottom 😡
Totally agree on the decline of Cadbury's, it seams like bad business as their biggest market was the UK and so many people have stopped buying it since Kraft then Mondelez took over.
To be honest most dirty chocolate has gone downhill in recent years, would rather have a smaller portion of quality stuff now.
My local garage has started selling Hershey's chocolate. Any good or like every other US import, rubbish??
Depends if you like the taste of baby sick not
I find rhubarb and custard sweets a bit hit and miss. Get them from Asda or Sainsburys and they're a bit bland.
I'm currently working my way through a bag from Aldi and the rhubarb flavouring is nice and tangy, the way I remember them when I was a boy.

It tastes a bit like those Easter eggs you used to get that had to be labelled "chocolate flavoured." PeterPoddy would probably love it.
It must be getting on now but I am pretty sure I have not have a second Walnut Whip since the walnut was removed from the base, inside

Ah, dog chocolate. No hint of cocoa.
I'm just going to throw this out there but... Haribo - the texture of dead skin but with added sugar. Totally lacking the moist gooiness of jelly babies or wine gums.

Mondelez is a rebadge of Kraft IIRC.
We took the girls to Bournville, where Cadburys' World is big on the founding Quaker principles and on Fairtrade, both of which Kraft dropped like hot bricks when they took over.
Any citrus flavoured jelly based sweet annoys me. On a long drive, the Mrs says "would anyone like a fruit pastille?" and I end up with the green or yellow junk that I can't get the taste out of my mouth for hours.
I'll be honest if chocolate didn't melt it's all I'd buy for travel sweets. Werthers being the only exception.
And when will I learn that four pack of chocolate bars are tiny. They may be on offer for £1 but it's a false economy if I have to eat 3 in one go.

Apparently half the amount of cocoa solids as Dairy Milk. Not that Dairy Milk is the gold standard of chocolate, but like most proper British chocolate (which is presumably mostly a similar recipe) it is at least bearable.

Though given apparent legal requirements for British chocolate, I wonder how they're allowed to sell it here - is it indeed labelled as "chocolate flavoured"?

Yes, probably. It's a thing, I just like cheap chocolate. And Tunnocks. you can keep yer poncy Green and Blacks stuff, give me gritty old crap any day!
