See below, for a job application. Not something I'm actually applying for, but I was intrigued by this and couldn't for the life of me work out what it's supposed to be (So, I would have failed the application anyway!).
How many here could apply for this mysterious job??
hgfkrw_hrnkov_xrksvi@jobapp.com
Not that exact address…
You’ll need to decipher the characters before @jobapp.com into three actual English-language words, each separated by an underscore, and then send your email to that address. Hint: H’s transpose to an S, and S’s to an H.
stupid_simple_cipher@jobapp.com
write the alphabet forwards, underneath write it backwards, transpose top for bottom. A = Z, Z = A.
stupid_simple_cipher@jobapp.com
edit. too slow.
You guyz is too quick. I started the alphabet at H=S but didn't think to go backwards. Duh.
Thanks!
So, I'm intrigued, what was the job?
The job is for Yzmwxznk.
It was for a Product Manager for a well known online music seller.
So cracking the code will potentially be the most exciting thing about the role?
Er... erm... I can't decipher that either.
Pretty low bar to set. I guess they know the standard of their applicants. 😉
What a bazaar test to set for such a role. I wouldn't work for them based on their poor sifting methodology. You're best off out of it.
Ah, or is it just to stop spam? And inadvertently stopped potential recruits!
