Hi fellow DIYers

I am putting a kitchen in my cellar which has an original york stone floor. I intend to clean and seal the floor this weekend and have bought some Liberon stone sealer.

Does anyone have any tips on how best to clean the floor before sealing and also how to best apply the sealer? It receomends brush apply but I been told a sponge(?) would be better.

Cheers in advance.

Is the stone still in situ? If not jet wash, if so hard scrubbing brush and mild detergent.
I seal using lithofin with a sponge roller.

Steam cleaning if in situ, sealer applied by sponge roller once dry. is the sealer water based? if not you'll need plenty of ventilation, decent breathing masks

I've sealed a concrete floor in the past, we hired a scrubber drier and used rollers to apply the sealant,
