she's recently been diagnosed with cancer of the thyroid....I think it was that, and from memory it's re-occurred and got worse. Sounds like she is in need of a good dose of luck and positive vibes.......
I like her on the odd occasions I've listened to her on R4 Rambles.

In fairness to her...in a world where females are under increasing pressure to be gorgeous, slim and all the other superficial shite, I say fair play to her for making it. She's forgotten more about horses than any of us will ever know and I've heard she's quite nice on a personal level.

A good friend of mine, who's an audio engineer, work with her regularly on the horse racing and has nothing but praise for her. She rates her as one of the nicest people in telly and she's worked with a few.
