I don't smoke and never have but have a inclination towards cigars for some weird reason, is there anyone on here who is an connoisseur of cigars who can give me some pointers please??

Not thinking of taking them up just curious to find out about them as I am laid up with a disclocated knee so plenty of time to think 😀

Thanks Pete

I do like a cigar and have a few at home in a humidor.

Try this as a sampler, comes in its own tube, which if left in a cool place will keep for a while (acts as a mini humidor for a short while)

Its a great first smoke

Hmmm Romeo and Julieta! One of my favorates. A sealable freezer bag with a spray of water (cigars in tubes inside) will keep them fresh. The cigar shop here in Chester and the nice man in harrods do that. Currently enjoying some Nicaraguan cigars, they have a really sharp taste.

I like Montecriso's and Upmanns, as they are smooth and have great flavour. I find Cohibas and Romeo Y Julieta's a tad too harsh.

I enjoy a cigar about once a year nowadays 🙂

that's about what I would think I would manage, just like the aroma and intrigued about all the varieties, as said a bit like wine,

nice tip re: freezer bag

how long do they keep for??

a couple of months as described. They can be resurrected if they dry out too much, but that would be a slow process in a humidor.

Best bet is to pick a time when you fancy one, order on line JIT and away you go.

Empty house, choice of music, a drop of wine or scotch and eeeennnnnnjoy

Valleydaddy I kept them this way for up to a month. I have a humidor now.

The cigar shop here in Chester have some loop hole were you can smoke on the premises. It's a great way of sampling smaller sized cigars before buying a full hanibal and realizing you don't like it.

A fine pleasure once a year for me as well, a bottle of really nice red on the go, sit at the bottom of the garden and wonder where the midgies are! I do like a nice Montecristo or r&j...In fact I am off to get one based on this thread 😆

It is a good way of keeping them away;I do a lot of DoE at my school, I have a couple of times enjoyed a cigar while being the only person able to sit outside my tent enjoying the Cairngorms. Disclaimer; I was yanked in to see the head teacher the following week to explain why I had been smoking in front of 17yo's on a weekend, while giving up MY time...
