Minecraft won't work on a Chromebook - so laptop it is!

...or...

get a suitable manufacturer refurb from http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/ load it with a nice light distro of linux, minecraft for linux and chrome broswer for linux.

Set up chrome as if you were using a chromebook and web apps and just run minecraft locally.

Tablet Minecraft is different to PC Minecraft though.

And don't ask why IT JUST IS!*

i don't know about Minecraft but was surprised when i went home the other week to see my dad - a techhead and network manager for the last 20 years or so - rocking a Chromebook. He loves it. Does have a desktop upstairs mind, but finds himself using it less and less...

Love the Chromebook too, the only stuff I've not been able to do is use Tracklogs and edit video.

The old windows paving slab is still lurking in a dusty corner for those rare occasions.

It is utter joy having a laptop that doesn't need to start up or shut down (its just on in about three seconds) and not being constantly interrupted with notifications, various software updaters and anti-virus poking its head in the way.

Slight hijack: can you upload/download garmin route info to strava and or gpsies/bikeroutetoaster etc on a Chromebook?
