Sorry to have already mentioned the C word but me and Mrs XC-Steve have tried to be organised and booked a holiday to Bruges on the 27th of Dec (8am Eurostar train), as it was an early start we in turn booked a hotel on the 26th next to the Eurostar station by Kings Cross.

At the time we were unable to check train times/book the train as it was too far in advanced, we've now had a look online and it would appear no trains run on the 26th... being from Devon and not used to traveling to the big smoke what does the STW collective think my best option to be?

I'm guessing park and ride but from where?

Any help would be most appreciated!

Can't help but astonished that trains not running on the 26th. I'm working then, don't see why trains should be any different.

Most trains won't be running but Network Rail will be out in force doing engineering work.

Coach. The only time I ever used the plebeian/student transport solution was on the 26th, no traffic so it wasn't delayed.
You may have to make your way from Victoria to kings cross by taxi or bus (19 or 73?)

Very few trains are even scheduled to run on 25/26 December, engineering work or not. This has been the case for aeons.

Me too, Leeds to Newcastle. Listened to Marillion on my Sony Walkman on the way up.
