I like his fairly relaxed attitude to potentially venomous animals - not sure what it is so presumably no idea if it's dangerous or not but he cheerfully picks it up anyway.

Ivan - you do know where he learned to ride don't you? I think he's probably fairly experienced in how to handle dangerous animals.

Yep, that's why I find it pretty cool - it might be harmless, might be lethal but he's very chilled about just picking it up to find out.

My brother’s been living in Australia for the last ten years. He’s not mentioned Australians having any expertise in handling dangerous animals, and you’d think they’d know. Kenya may be different - elephant herding A levels?

In France it's easy to spot dangerous snakes, they're vipers and have a zig-zag tractor tyre marking all the way down the back. The angle of the photos don't give us a clear view down the back so I can't be sure. It looks suspiciously like a viper pattern from what I can see and if it gets annoyed and bites it'll put him in hospital.
