I need some more things to do with my Scout group which last around 20-25mins? The hall is fairly restricted on space ideally something where they won't need loads of room!
Paper/Card, rubber bands, pencils & plasticine - PLUS an egg each for a team event - EGG racing.
We used to do it when I was at scouts and it was good to see what contraptions the boys would come up with.
My best was a dragster!
What kind of stuff do you do with them now?
The youth group I work with just made a massive lantern out of bamboo (think bigger than them)
Take huge sticks of bamboo make massive shape (triangle is best but let them decide) secure bamboo together with masking tape.
Let them paper mache (sp) the frame with big sheets of coloured tissue paper, messy, fun and they get to work as a team.
Let it dry and take it outside next time they meet and stick a big candle / light in it. Looks cool.
{I have thought better of my suggestion - I only noticed the ages mentioned afterwards. Apologies.}
Split them into teams and give them a couple of newspapers each and some masking tape and get them to build the highest structure they can that will support something you have lying around, a car (toy car - clearly) or something.
Hide the sausage.

Hi,
Have you registered with programmes online - it is a good resource.
This link has often provided a bit of inspiration: Scouty Ideas.
we got empty plastic water containers and stacked them up, then everyone holds hands around them in a circle and you try and pull someone into them. if you knock the tower over you are out. if your hands come apart both people are out. good fun and it wears everyone out. can play a couple of rounds in that time
This forum seems to keep many 10-14 entertained for long periods.
