x2

Same here.

Is it normal to scan tissue removed for benign growth to check for cancer? Makes sense if it is.

Probably an incidental finding on the MRI scan done to look at the prostate.

Get well soon King Charles III.

Nobody wants this big C, regardless.

I already have too many friends, colleagues and relatives succumbed to the big C.

I always wonder the cause as it is still unclear where it originates from.

Very sad for Chas, but being slightly cynical….

watch the government try and smuggle out loads of bad news while the countries fawning, cap-doffing media rattle on and on and on about it, keeping us endlessly informed of every single minute development as if nobody had ever had cancer before

It’s been the entire 6 o clock news. It’s like we’re living in a medieval fiefdom

Hopefully it's a primary rather than a secondary item, and they've caught it early if it was symptomless.

Can't cope with another Coronation!

What is bowl cancer?
I wish him a full and speedy recovery.
My Dad died 32 years ago of carcinomatosis which developed from stomach cancer.

Why are they dancing around what the diagnosis actually is? Anyway - lucky for him he got to see a specialist quicker than me.

I'm guessing they may be trying a couple of rounds of something to see how responsive it is.

That’s a shame, oh well, never mind.

I'm sure he’ll be well cared rather than enter into the NHS postcode lottery.

Another coronation/ bank holiday will bankrupt the UK surely! Get well soon though. Not nice for anyone and their family regardless of what you happened to be born into.

I have some sympathy because my dad went into hospital for his second op for benign prostatic hyperplasia about 6 months ago and whilst undergoing that treatment they found cancerous cells in his bladder. A scrape didn't deal with it so he had his bladder removed before Christmas. He's quite well now but the post-op recovery was a bumpy road (including a period where they managed to not feed him whilst in hospital and then not discharge him because he wasn't passing solids, and then later a blue light into hospital for a secondary infection). I'm not a royalist but I hope he doesn't suffer.

Crap news for anyone, only upside is that this tends to lead to an uptick in people get checked out due to the coverage

downside is that the daily heil will try and blame harry and Meghan in 3-2-1....

Nothing new there.

Other channels, streaming services and things to do are also available.

It's pretty shit and I wish him and family well.

**** cancer! Doesn’t matter who you are, cancer is shit. He’s very lucky to have probably some of the best private health care there is. Will likely give him better odds than most.

As they would take bloods I’d guess at a form of blood cancer/myelodysplastic syndrome, hope not for his sake as my dad got diagnosed with it 1 week after retiring at the age of 69 back in 2018, he died 4 months later. Its most common in adults over the age of 70

My first thought was why does the world have to know his very private medical condition and then I read the final paragraph of the press release and I can understand the motive.

I still think it is harsh that he is forced to share something so private and personal though. Despite believing that the monarchy has no role in a genuine democracy.

My best mate also had cancer surgery today, at 38, having lost her mum to cancer when she was 3, and her Dad to cancer whilst pregnant with her first child. Whatever people think to the Royal Family - cancer can f***ing do one. Thinking of him and his family, who at this moment are just people just like me and my friend - and my day has been shit.

But they read the room very badly and got a spanking for it.

I find myself wishing him the very best. Mostly, because I'm human and despite my dislike of the office he elects to hold and something will get him eventually, needless suffering is never nice (though I make an exception for Trump). But a bit of me also wishes him well because I dread the news being full of it, especially if it acts as a distraction in arguably the world's most important year for democracy. That would be a real irony.

He'll have the instant appointment that members of the public will never get, and while we can all agree cancer is bad, it is much worse when you need to go through an underfunded nhs in the hope you get an appointment and treatment before the disease has caused irreparable damage.
