I'm hoping to get a few days camping later this year with the roof tent and ebike. I will need to recharge the ebike battery and have what is probably a simple and possibly a stupid question - if I get an electric hook up cable that plugs into the sites electric connection can I simply plug the other end of the cable into an adapter with a 3-pin socket and plug the bike charger in to that?

As I say, probably a stupid question but I defo don't want to knacker the battery and certainly don't want to be spending c.£850 on a portable and appropriately sized power bank.

Thanks

Yes you can.

Yes you can, done it many times. Bike stays in van out of sight, cable goes in thru window.

You may be able to charge on-site without paying for hookup, assuming the battery is removable. When we went to Islay a couple of years ago, staying at Port Mor, most of the power outlets in the kitchen had e-bike batteries charging. But otherwise, there’s no problem running a standard charger off a hookup - if in a tent consider the cable routing so the drips don’t get to the business end; if the bike's in a car/van, probably less of an issue.
