The wife and I are taking a bit of an extended holiday in August and Sept and planned to stay in Chamonix for at least 2 weeks. Cham or environs. Thought about trying to find a small chalet so people can come and visit (we're from Scotland but not going to the UK on this trip). Anyone have any bright ideas for finding something like this (no - i haven;t googled yet!).

Cheers

Outside punt...

Three of us hired this place at the end of the summer season '08:

As it was the last week of the season we got it for something silly like £100 per person (or maybe less). We agreeded to clean it once before we left. I had the open fire going each night and the hot tub on the back deck was ace. Could walk down the hill into Les Houches for beers / grub.

Worth an e-mail...

You could always try the 'youth hostel' (Auberge?) but that is really slumming it.

If it was just us we'd be camping but we'd prefer to get somewhere that other people (like perhaps my mum) might be more comfortable in ! I think me, the missus and my mum in a macpac minaret might be pushing it a bit 🙂
