A bit ago I posted about a problem with our CH. It turns out the 3 way valve motor isn't happy as it makes a right old racket when it's operated.
What's the crack with these then? Is it a case of replace or can you clean them etc. if it's a new one which are the best ones?

Depends what you've got. With some you can replace the motor, but you need to understand if its the motor that's knackered or if its just straining as the valve is stiffening up. Best just to change the whole thing out as they're about £60 or so and its a job you can do yourself in about 30 mins or so - assuming its a gravity system.

If it is the motor on some valves you can just change the motor itself, 2 wires crimp connectors simple job. Motor around £10 from usual suspects.

It's a gravity system with a Honeywell switch. How the bloody hell do I stop a bath in the airing cupboard swapping it out??
