When I bought my house it was covered in CCTV cameras of different types. All the wires have been cut. What would I actually need to bring this system back on line? I've seen this is this just a case of re wiring the system then hooking it up to my lap top and recording footage to external hard drive as required? Is it this simple?
Just for info, I think that by law you are also supposed to display a notice to tell people they are being filmed. (I looked into it when I was having problems with upstairs neighbour, and would have had it pointed at a common stair. Still thinking about it, but he's a shouter and screamer and the recording equipment was way more expensive)
i wondered this, but given everyone thinks the cameras work (including the police) and no one has ever complained, I'm not putting signs up now (Even the local dealer parks near our house since his car got shot up a few months ago!)
