my Z1 is starting to show signs of age.
So I'm looking for a new phone.
The new Samsung Note 5 looks nice, but compared to my Z1, it's HUGE.
I don't want to carry something like that in my jersey pocket.
So just wondering, what you guys carry...

Just buy any cheap phone from a secondhand shop if its a riding only phone, or get one of the "tough phones" off of ebay.
I got some sort of Samsung phone for a fiver out of Argos, and a £10 top up, and that's my going biking phone.

Yeah this is the main reason I've not jumped into the world of 'big' phones. My iPhone5s is still pocketable and just about small enough that it doesn't break when I fall on it. I'd like a bigger phone for daily living but as you say it'd be no good for riding.
