My Mazda's 3yr warranty runs out at the end of Jan. Obviously the 3yr (minor) service is due around that time too (I only do 12k/yr).
Not sure I trust the main dealer to admit to any work that needs doing whilst covered by the warranty (as experienced by a Toyota dealer a few years ago)
Would it be a good idea to get the car serviced earlier at an independent garage, and ask them to give it a once over so I can get any repair work done within warranty by the main dealer? Only problem is; I don't know a good inde garage near me!
Or will the main dealer consider the warranty void if another garage has serviced the car?
I know nothing about cars really and, apart from a tiny bit of corrosion on the underside of the boot-lid, I can't see anything that needs repair.
You can get any garage you want to service the car, it doesn't invalidate the warranty.
As the 3 years is coming up, it'll also be due an MOT. You can get this done a month early and keep the same anniversary. May show up any issues. So definitely get that done.
Corrosion on the underside of the bootlid at 3 years old? I'd be straight to the dealer about that for a start. edit: OK, perhaps a bit dramatic but that's a bit crap!
Get the car MOTd at another garage a couple of weeks before the 3 years is up and if anything needs doing take it back to the main dealer.
