So I'll be visiting the homeland briefly next year with the full entourage of seven and so we will need a people carrier of some sort. A quick Google comes up with Greenmotion but it looks like their pick up point is almost the other side of the city (slight exageration). Anyone have any tips of who to use and who not to use? Thanks.

Not Liverpool airport specific but I always use Europcar, good prices, fair on damage and generally 4 or 5% on Quidco.

I'll see Lunge's Europcar (who in fairness I only have one experience of - not Liverpool though - and they were fine) and raise him with Enterprise.

I now always use these guys. Not necessarily the cheapest, but excellent service and always good, relatively new cars.

Crucially, in the UK - and unlike the vast majority of car hire companies - all of their locations are owned and run by Enterprise, as opposed to being franchises. This means that they have control over how each one operates. Add to this the fact that all the salespeople are incentivised based on customer feedback and they really do go the extra mile to ensure that you're happy

Holiday Autos, sometimes maligned but I’ve had an issue.

Avoid green motion, lots of stories about finding and charging for 'new' damage on return. If you use them, make sure you have insurance for their excessive (£600) excess. We got stung, but the cheap 3rd party policy we had taken out paid out (and we definitely hadn't damaged the car).
