Currently Use AutoAid which is great for 39 quid a year.
Have called them out once, great service.
They've towed my fathers classic car home a few times too.
They don't do European cover though and I need cover for 2 weeks in France in summer.
Anyone any recommendations?
Yes, look at subscription bank accounts.
I pay £17 a month with Lloyds and I get AA Relay cover, mobile phone insurance, annual travel insurance and something else I can't remember...
No brainer innit...
Edit: Sorry, actually read your post properly now..
Yes, we used Greenflag for a 3-week road trip through Europe last Summer. It was the cheapest I found, but no experience of actually using it thankfully.. 🙂
Just did mine through AA and got £70 back through quidco.
No European cover but there is parts and labour cover upto £500 for my van.
Cost £110 after the cash back.
I like auto aid as it covers me and wife in any car that we are in for 39 quid a year.
Cheers for replies will have a look around
They don't do European cover though

They don't cover vans though.
🙁
Car insurance through M&S - breakdown cover included. Would need to check Europe though, probably an additional premium..
Don't mention the AA to me - last year £50 any car or bike, me as driver or passenger. This year - automatic renewal (forgot about it!)£140. The company paid, but that's not really the point. Never again.
The A&A always do that (in my personal experience), send the reminder letter out a couple of days before automatic renewal with the date on the letter of the previous month. My renewal was £212 quick phone call and it went back down to a proper price without any fuss.
