My Ford Fusion needs a new battery, a simple job. Ordered one from eurocarparts using their vehicle finder, but when I've gone to fit it, the new one is smaller in size and lower A AH too. It is same height and depth but not as wide, so it will fit securely fit in the cradle.
A Google session has got me the correct dimensions for new battery, bit all I can find in the right size have higher A AH than original.
Original is 500A and 52AH.
Correct size replacement is 600A and 60AH.
Recommended by ecp, but smaller is 440A 44AH
So which is best option?

Return it for the right one
Modern day cars use much more power so go for the bigger battery. Â No harm in having the additional capacity.
Thanks, so right size with higher output!?
Strangely the websites I checked ecp/Halfords/RAC and a few more were all recommending the smaller one.
No issues caused by having a higher capacity battery. It will probably just cost you more money. One of the correct dimensions will be fine.
Went with a slightly higher capacity. Got a good deal on a Duracel battery from ECP. Â Only awkward bit was getting to one of the bolts to fit the battery.
TBH in normal use the smaller one'll probably be fine. Extra capacity speaks for itself, cranking amps are mostly useful if it's freezing cold.
Actually, it's not <always> fine. Like, ford mondeo mk3, if you fit a significantly higher CCA battery, and then have to crank it for longer than usual, will happily torch the insulation on the starter cable as the spec is a bit marginal. But mostly it's fine.
