Sorted! I think I had just deleted recent cookies. Deleting them all sorted it!

Is this the latest ploy to piss off loyal paying customers?

I too cannot log in on my Android phone.

To clear the cookies on Android I went to the singletrack website, clicked on the padlock in the address bar, then on ‘SITE SETTINGS’, then ‘CLEAR & RESET’, which claims to ‘clear all local data, including cookies and reset all permissions for this website’. I said ‘yeah!’ and did it, but it still won’t let me log in.

I also looked through the full list of sites for which I have cookies (three dots, then Settings, Site settings, All sites, then scroll...) in case there were other variations on singletrackworld.com or gofar or something, but couldn't find anything lingering.

I don’t really want to clear all cookies from all websites, that would be a pain, and I’ve no reason to think that that would work when doing it just for STW doesn’t…

This is a pain, I don't want to browse in incognito mode the whole time!

I'm not clearing mine either. There's too much other stuff that I don't want to lose.

I can sense a flounce coming on along with a dropping of my P. I'm not paying for this.

I'm guessing it might fix itself if we wait two weeks for old cookies to expire...?

One would assume so. I've flagged it up to Mark that it's still not fixed.

Just an idea - for those who aren't able to reset it, try clear the local site cookies and then immediately closing the page.

I tried that. Also then immediately did a 'force stop' on Chrome. Still no joy.

There's a cookie management plugin for chrome 'EditThisCookie' - then you can remove STW specific cookies (I had to remove them all picking session related ones didn't help). Then, finally I could log back in.*

*Desktop, not sure there is a mobile equivalent

Safari/Mac all fine and speedy

Ta very muchly...

I too can't log in, I've gone incognito to join in on this thread.

I've tried the suggestions in this thread but no joy.

If it's not sorted soon I'll be retracting my P.

It's a piss take.

One thing I’ve noticed, reading through this thread, is that all of the issues appear to be solely with Android and Chromebooks. It’s not an issue I’ve experienced, the only issue is with daft little things like new sentences not automatically starting with a capital. First world problems, eh! 😜

Chrome on iMac for me.

Just got logged out and unable to log in so had to delete the cookies again despite doing it this morning.

Looks like the new server is possibly still sending data associated with the old one.

Chrome on a windows 8 tablet, cleared cookies, still can't log in.

Android phone, running Edge, I can't find how to clear cookies, so I can't log in. This is a joke, if it wasn't so sad.

Every time there's an update, something else breaks.

I just switched to a different browser and cleared everything there so as not to mess up my regular stuff for the moment

Android phone, running Edge, I can’t find how to clear cookies, so I can’t log in

Home top left, three dots bottom right, select settings, privacy, Clear browsing data

edit: still takes 3 edits to get rid of the html though

leffeboy,

Thanks, but what does

'Home top left'

mean?

In Edge?

I've already cleared the cache and it didn't help.

chrome on w10 and chrome on os x 10.12 not logging in.

clearing the site specific cookies does work.

chrome>3 dots top right>setting>advanced>privacyandsecurity>contentsettings>cookies>seeallcookiesandsitedata.

from there scroll down and delete the singletrackworld.com cookie.

Up until now the update has only been slightly annoying- gboard not working properly.

But not being able to log in will force plenty away. I've tried clearing cookies for the site several times but still have to resort to incognito.

I find this site great when it's working but it's really hitting the shit now.

Thanks, but what does

‘Home top left

If you are already on a webpage then there is an icon if a house top left. If you can see 3 dots bottom right then you are already there

If you've already cleared those cookies then I don't know though. It worked in edge for me

chrome>3 dots top right>setting>advanced>privacyandsecurity>contentsettings>cookies>seeallcookiesandsitedata.

This worked for me eventually, had to clear the last 4 weeks. What a pain in the arse.

<flounce>

This is basic stuff. Did anyone do ANY testing on this at all??? It's a f++king joke...

I've had to login in incognito mode and I've cancelled my subscription.

Bye STW, it's been a rollercoaster ride but I'm getting off now. Can anyone recommend another vaguely bike related forum which has a similar level of knowledge and wit?

I'm posting this under my wife's username as I can't get in on my phone. I've tried following the advice above for android phones and it's not working. Like other above, I don't want to clear every single cookie on my phone.

So, if anyone is on here who can sort out a pro rata refund for the P that I now can't use, that would be very much appreciated. I've had enough of this place of late. At £1.50 a month, I currently feel like I'm being ripped off!

By the way, the account I can't log into is Onzadog.

Sorry, but Ive had enough. Can only log in incognito. I'm no IT wizard. I've put up with it being sooo slooooow for so long, trying to breathe deeply and calmly while I wait for a page to load. I don't want to pay for this any more. And Ive been a subscriber since somewhere around issue 2.

@richmars - I might have forgotten a step. Once you get to the last page where you can clear the cache and cookies there is a drop down at the top right where you have to select 'all time' otherwise it will only do the last couple of hours which isn't enough. Sorry about that, it caught me first time round

I get the impression that whoever is in charge of this website update dispute working hard and putting effort in is not experienced in this field. Lots of the errors that have occurred seem to be in the realm of inexperience.

Somone is working hard but doesn't have the backup of a experienced college.

Numpty question alert. Clearing stw cookies on my phone hasn't worked, even closing the page immediately after, but might the fact that I've logged in on another device (e.g. work PC) recently be an issue? I'm using incognito mode to log in at the mo.

Thanks in advance.

@roger_mellie - cookies are specific to a particular browser on a device. Even if you have two browsers on your computer, the cookies that one uses can't be seen by the other.

Update here:

https://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/our-forum/

Apparently they've changed something, so worth another go.

(Still not working for me, so I've emailed them to let them know as requested.)

I've had success on PC following this method to delete cookies from just STW:

 1. On your computer, open Chrome.
 2. At the top right, click More More and then Settings.
 3. At the bottom, click Advanced.
 4. Under "Privacy and security," click Content settings.
 5. Click Cookies.
 6. Under "All cookies and site data," search for the website's name.
 7. To the right of the site, click Remove Remove.

From https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95647?co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop&hl=en&oco=0

But there doesn't seem to be an equivalent for Chrome on Android, i.e. no way to selectively delete cookies from a particular site on mobile as with desktop.

I don't really want to delete all cookies from my phone as a) I have some open tabs with shopping baskets that I'm not yet ready to buy/ keep adding to 🙂 and b) I'd have to enter in full log in details for all other sites which won't remember me.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

It seems like, in theory, what I did on Android should be the equivalent. But I still can't log in. What I did was (pasted from previous post):

To clear the cookies on Android I went to the singletrack website, clicked on the padlock in the address bar, then on ‘SITE SETTINGS’, then ‘CLEAR & RESET’, which claims to ‘clear all local data, including cookies and reset all permissions for this website’. I said ‘yeah!’ and did it, but it still won’t let me log in.

I also looked through the full list of sites for which I have cookies (three dots, then Settings, Site settings, All sites, then scroll…) in case there were other variations on singletrackworld.com or gofar or something, but couldn’t find anything lingering.

same problem here.

Still no ability to log in on Android device. Shambolic.

No singletrackworld cookies left. Could be some other url stem cookies, but maybe that would entail STW owning up to pushing ad Co cookies on to users?

I've cleared cookies again but still can't log in unless I go incognito.

The forum is also very slow this afternoon, 30 seconds to over a minute to load pages.

@Stoner - I only cleared the STW cookies in Chrome, i.e. those set by the domain singletrackworld.com. I had to do it twice yesterday but it was OK this morning when I looked.
