Hello people,

Has anyone been to Cannock in the last few weeks?
We haven't been for a year or so as the last time we went we had a really wet June and the trails were ruined by to many people riding on them in all the mud (me included sorry). Although we did ride a couple of sections we thought it best to jump off the trails and just have a blast on the fire roads so we didn't do anymore damage.
I know loads of people volunteer to build the trails which i appreciate deeply, so I just wondered what they are like at the moment? I think we are due a bit of rain this weekend but wouldn't mind a blast of the Dog and Monkey if they are fit for riding in the wet. If not then we may head down to the Forest of Dean and have a blast of the Verderers Trail.

Thanks

Lorne

Very good at the moment was particularly oarsumz last night. It rained heavily a few times last weekend but because the ground is dry it drains quickly. It will need an extended period of wet weather to mess it up

If you haven't been for a year you'll find the trail fairies have hugely improved drainage where the water used to collect

One section on FtD is closed but the re-opened sections of the Monkey are fabulous, the best sections imho

Yeah I agree, the Monkey has stepped it up a few levels at cannock, before that it was ok for a quick blast but didn't really cut it when you compared it to a lot of other places, Wales in particular. But now with the monkey i must say it's pretty dam good. Still no Afan or Llandegla but considering it's not based on a big welsh mountain they have nailed it really.
